Rasca'ls Cycle
Not for Sale
This is a 1977 Ossa ST-1 dirt track bike that is owned by my Dad. It came stock with a champion chrome frame, and fiberglass, and a tuned GP motor. Back in the mid 70's when I started dirt track racing (on a Honda XR75) here in New England only a few of these bikes were around. The Importer for Ossa, John Taylor was auctually located here in Upstate NY and they were the Hot items, as the 80's came and the Japanese took over the offroad and competition markets from most of the Europeons. Our rides and minds changed especially mine being 17 and wanting to win races more than anything. The vintage bug did not get me until I was 35. Now it is 25 plus years later and after dozens of bench racing stories about wishing we had gotten one of these bikes, the right deal came through. We got this bike out of NH. Some of its updates are a carillo rod, coated piston, mikuni carb, auctual hydraulic rear caliper and a few little tweaks here and there. It is an awesome bike and beautiful to look at, and every time Dad gets the chance to let this baby rip, whether it is at a AHRMA national 1/2 mile, or a local short track, the smiles and good times are better than any trophy or money could buy, (P.S. but winning is good too!). And the one thing we are finding out now is the old saying, "the older I get the faster I was". Thanks for looking. Take care, Rascal
